Welcome to Model Diplomat! Our Community Guidelines help ensure that everyone can learn about Model UN in a safe, respectful, and educational environment. These guidelines apply to all users, including students, teachers, and parents.

Model Diplomat is an educational platform designed to help students of all ages succeed at Model UN. By using our platform, you agree to follow these guidelines and help us maintain a positive learning community.

How to Use Our Platform Responsibly

What You Should Do:

  • Use our research tools to learn about global issues and country positions
  • Ask thoughtful questions related to Model UN topics
  • Respect other users and maintain a positive learning environment
  • Follow your school's policies when using our platform for educational purposes
  • Credit sources properly when using our research in your MUN preparation
  • Report any inappropriate content or behavior to our team

What You Should Not Do:

  • Share your account credentials with others
  • Use our platform for non-educational purposes or commercial activities
  • Try to break or hack our systems
  • Copy large amounts of content without permission
  • Use automated tools to access our platform
  • Pretend to be someone else or create fake accounts
  • Harass, bully, or intimidate other users
  • Use our platform to spread false information

Using AI Responsibly and Safely

Our AI tools are designed to enhance your learning, not replace critical thinking. Here's how to use them responsibly:

Appropriate AI Use:

  • Ask questions about international relations, country policies, and global issues
  • Research topics for your MUN committees and position papers
  • Explore different perspectives on global challenges
  • Learn about diplomatic procedures and MUN rules
  • Practice formulating arguments and understanding complex issues

Prohibited AI Use:

  • Asking AI to write your entire position papers or speeches (use it as a research tool, not a ghostwriter)
  • Requesting help with non-MUN homework or assignments
  • Trying to manipulate the AI to produce inappropriate content
  • Using AI to create fake news or misleading information
  • Asking for personal information about real people
  • Attempting to bypass safety features or content filters

Remember: AI is a powerful learning tool, but you should always think critically about the information you receive and verify important facts from reliable sources.

Sharing Content and Files

When you upload files or share content on Model Diplomat, you help create a learning community. Here's what we expect:

Acceptable Content:

  • Educational materials related to Model UN and international relations
  • Research documents and position papers for feedback
  • Images and charts that support your learning
  • Questions and discussions about global issues

Prohibited Content:

  • Inappropriate or offensive material
  • Content that bullies, harasses, or targets individuals
  • False or misleading information
  • Copyrighted material you don't have permission to share
  • Personal information about yourself or others
  • Advertising or promotional content
  • Content promoting violence, discrimination, or hate
  • Inappropriate images or videos

Important for Students Under 18: Never share personal information like your full name, school name, address, phone number, or other identifying details in your content.

Keeping Students Safe Online

Student safety is our top priority.We've designed Model Diplomat to be a safe learning environment, and we need your help to keep it that way.

For Students:

  • Never share personal information with other users
  • Don't try to meet other users in person
  • Report any inappropriate behavior or content immediately
  • Tell a trusted adult if something makes you uncomfortable
  • Use Model Diplomat only for its intended educational purpose

For Parents and Teachers:

  • Supervise younger students' use of the platform
  • Review our safety features and privacy controls
  • Contact us immediately if you have concerns about student safety
  • Help students understand appropriate online behavior

If You See Something Concerning: Report it immediately by emailing team@modeldiplomat.com or using our report function.

How to Report Problems

We take all reports seriously and investigate every concern to maintain a safe learning environment.

What to Report:

  • Inappropriate content or behavior
  • Bullying or harassment
  • Safety concerns
  • Technical problems or bugs
  • Suspected misuse of AI tools
  • Copyright violations

How to Report:

  • Email us at team@modeldiplomat.com
  • Use the report button within the platform
  • Include as much detail as possible in your report
  • For urgent safety concerns, mark your email as "URGENT"

What Happens Next: We will review your report within 24 hours and take appropriate action. We may contact you for additional information and will follow up on the resolution.

What Happens If Guidelines Are Broken

We believe in education and second chances, especially for students who are learning appropriate online behavior. Our approach focuses on teaching and correction rather than punishment.

For Minor Violations:

  • Educational reminder about guidelines
  • Content removal with explanation
  • Guidance on proper platform use

For Serious or Repeated Violations:

  • Temporary suspension from certain features
  • Required completion of digital citizenship education
  • Parent/teacher notification (for student accounts)
  • Temporary account suspension

For Severe Violations (Safety Concerns, Illegal Activity):

  • Immediate account suspension or termination
  • Contact with parents, schools, or guardians
  • Reporting to appropriate authorities when required by law
  • Permanent ban from the platform

Our Goal: Help users understand why their behavior was problematic and support them in becoming responsible digital citizens.

Appeals and Getting Help

How to Appeal a Decision:

  • Email us at team@modeldiplomat.com with "Appeal" in the subject line
  • Explain why you believe the decision was incorrect
  • Provide any additional context or information
  • Be respectful and constructive in your communication

Getting Help:

  • Contact our support team if you need clarification about our guidelines
  • Ask questions about appropriate platform use

  • Get technical support for platform issues

Response Time: We will respond to appeals and support requests within 72 hours during business days.
