Foreign Policy

Poland's foreign policy is centered on the US alliance, NATO's eastern defense, and supporting Ukraine. It has pushed for stronger NATO presence on the eastern flank and significant European rearmament. Poland is the EU's fifth-largest member state and a key voice on energy security (reducing dependence on Russian gas/oil).

The Visegrad Group (V4) remains a coordination format, though policy divergence with Hungary has reduced its utility. Poland's relationship with Germany -- historically fraught -- is the most important bilateral dynamic in Central Europe.

MUN Delegate Guide

As Poland, position yourself as NATO's eastern defense leader and Ukraine's most committed European supporter. Your military buildup and refugee hosting give you enormous credibility on security and humanitarian issues.

Coordinate with the US, Baltic states, and Nordic countries on Russia containment. Push for enhanced NATO eastern flank presence. Lead on energy security and diversification. Use your Solidarity movement heritage to champion democratic movements. Build bridges with Germany despite historical tensions.
