Foreign Policy

Czechia's foreign policy is firmly Atlanticist and pro-EU, with a strong emphasis on human rights -- a legacy of Vaclav Havel's presidency. It has been among the most hawkish European states on Russia and China, expelling Russian diplomats en masse in 2021 over a warehouse explosion linked to GRU agents.

Czechia is a member of the Visegrad Group (V4) with Poland, Hungary, and Slovakia, though political divergence within the group has reduced its effectiveness.

MUN Delegate Guide

As Czechia, invoke your Velvet Revolution legacy and Havel's human rights tradition. Take strong positions on democracy promotion and opposition to authoritarianism.

Lead on Ukraine support and Russia/China pushback. Coordinate with NATO allies and the EU. Use your ammunition initiative as a model for creative solutions to security challenges. Your V4 membership gives you regional coordination ability, though navigate divergent positions within the group.
