Welcome to UCLMUN 2023, an in-person model UN conference hosted by University College London's United Nations Association (UCLUNA) in London from 24th to 26th November. We're excited to relaunch what has been one of the largest MUN conferences in the UK.
Delegate fees are set at £28 for non-UCLUNA members and £22 for UCLUNA members. Unfortunately, due to university regulations, we cannot process payments through myMUN. We extend our gratitude to our grant funders for making UCLMUN one of the most affordable international experiences.
This year's theme, "Reigniting Global Cooperation," coincides with forthcoming major structural reforms of the United Nations. With six committees catering to varying levels of expertise and an expected delegate count of approximately 175, UCLMUN is not just another academic exercise. Particularly through our "Summit of the Future" committee, this conference will serve as a proving ground for ideas that could influence actual UN reforms and global politics. Resolutions passed will not only be scrutinised by our Washington-based partner, Coalition for the UN We Need, but may also inform discussions within the UN itself.
We are honoured to collaborate with strategic partners such as the Coalition for the UN We Need (C4UN), UCL Grand Challenges, and LetsGoTurbo UK. Our mission is to elevate MUN from a mere simulation to a transformative platform that actively engages youth in shaping the future of global governance. We aim to blend educational rigour with innovation, exemplified by the inclusion of committee-specific guest speakers and simulations on pressing global issues.
Delegates can look forward to participating in a variety of committees such as the UN Security Council, UN Commission on the Status of Women, UN High Commissioner for Refugees, World Health Assembly, and European Commission. Unique to this year's event is the simulation of the once-in-a-generation 2024 Summit of the Future, focusing on the UN's trajectory post its 75th anniversary.
Your voice truly matters at UCLMUN. Leveraging our partnerships with influential UN bodies and think tanks, your contributions will not just hone your diplomatic acumen but could directly impact global policy discourse.
Join us for this ground-breaking experience that promises not just to enlighten but to empower the next generation of global leaders.
We eagerly await your participation in this intellectually stimulating journey.
See you in November!
