SEKMUN 2019

Madrid, June 2018.

Dear MUN Director,

SEK International Schools, in partnership with UNICEF Spanish Committee, will hold the thirteenth edition of SEKMUN Model United Nations, from the 11th to the 14th March, 2019.

SEKMUN, with over 350 participants, ages 15 to 18, represents an excellent opportunity to address the most important international issues in new ways, which will be essential for the construction of a world in which our young students will be the leading actors.

SEKMUN is a major MUN event with official ceremonies being hosted at the Spanish Senate and Camilo Jose Cela University.

On behalf of SEK International Schools, I am pleased to invite your school to SEKMUN. Each participating school can send a delegation of up to 12 students with 3 delegates to the General Assembly and 1 delegate to each of the orther nine committees:

• Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC)

• UNICEF Executive Board

• UNESCO Executive Board

• World Tourism Organization (UNTWO)

• FAO Council

• Security Council

• Human Right Council

• World Health Organization

• United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC)

Spanish will be the official language of the General Assembly, the Security Council and the UNICEF Executive Board and World Health Organization, whilst English will be the official language of ECOSOC, the Human Rights Council, the UNESCO Executive Board, World Tourism Organization (UNTWO),  FAO Council and United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).

You can register through our website http://www.sekmun.org. We are happy to assist participating schools with logistical details such as free student family accomodation, hotels or airport transfers. Once the registration is confirmed we will post all adittional information regarding SEKMUN procedures and topics to be addressed.
