About

LIMUN 2021 will take place virtually between the 26th and 28th March. Delegate fees will be £20 per person (plus MyMUN costs of 7%). Our theme this year will be Reimagining Global Governance. As we commemorate the 75th anniversary of the first UN General Assembly, and a century since the inaugural Model League of Nations, the world is positioned at a crossroads. The global governance landscape is increasingly polarised between those who seek multilateral cooperation and those who pursue nationalist or even isolationist policies. Moreover, as we seek to build back better for a brighter future, even multilateral cooperation often neglects other agents of change, including business, charities, and civil society. To tackle our contemporary challenges, we must rethink our global institutions, our policies, and our actions. As we move forward and reimagine global governance, it is important that we do so through the spirit of global cooperation - working across borders, across societal demographics, and across geopolitical divisions.

London International Model United Nations (LIMUN) is the largest university-level Model United Nations conference in Europe. Our mission is to foster cultural exchange and connect future leaders with the change-makers of today. For 22 years, a voluntary team of students from leading UK universities (LSE, Cambridge, Imperial, KCL, UCL, SOAS, etc.) has organised the conference on an annual basis, while our wider international team comes from global universities such as Harvard, Berkeley, and NUS. The Foundation is overseen by an experienced Board of Trustees and its Honorary President, Lord Mark Malloch Brown, former United Nations Deputy Secretary-General to Kofi Annan. We are accredited by the United Nations Department of Global Communications and have recently partnered with the UN75 campaign to commemorate the United Nation's 75th anniversary.

Please note that you must be a current university student, recent graduate (<25), or high school student (16+) to apply. We will be operating the majority of our committees on GMT time, but we will also be running committees timezoned for delegates in the Americas and East Asia.
