About

Honorable Chairs, Fellow Delegates,

On behalf of the JCUMUN secretariat, I would like to invite you to this year’s edition of our conference. We are very excited to be hosting you in the eternal city for the 12th Edition of JCUMUN.

This year, JCUMUN’s theme is inspired by the UN theme for 2020. In uncertain times, we find ourselves looking towards strong leaders for guidance and reassurance, but what makes a leader? It is the ability to communicate, to negotiate? The will to lead the future is inside of us all, and by fostering that we will tap into our true potential as citizens of the world. In recent times, our world has been tested and we see now more than ever the importance of debate, especially in the international context. It is important that we talk through controversy and find common grounds as our world is as interconnected as ever. At this edition of JCUMUN 23’, we aim to push for conversations that lead us to solutions through compromise and diplomacy. We aim to have conversations that lead us to the “UN we need''.

We look forward to hosting you in the Eternal City!
