The INDMUN Madeira Cultural Summit is the newest chapter in a journey of academic diplomacy that began in India and now arrives in the heart of the Atlantic. It is as if the plane of diplomacy, carrying the voices and visions of delegates from every corner of the world, is descending over Madeira’s green peaks and blue waters, ready to welcome those prepared to shape the next stage of international dialogue.
For eight days, more than three hundred delegates will gather in Madeira, Portugal, for a programme that blends the precision of formal Model United Nations procedure with the living heritage of the island and the depth of India’s own diplomatic traditions.
The summit is presented by the INDMUN Secretariat, known for delivering academically rigorous and seamlessly coordinated simulations, and BrainsByte Group, an international media and strategy collective recognised for fostering cross-border knowledge exchange and immersive event design. Together they bring operational mastery, academic credibility, and a network that spans continents.
Across twelve distinct committees, participants will address pressing geopolitical, environmental, humanitarian, and economic questions. Each committee operates in its own dedicated space, chaired by experienced facilitators and supported by a responsive academic team. The agenda balances intensive debate with cultural immersion, weaving in thematic tours, expert-led workshops, and structured networking opportunities.

From the opening day, delegates will follow tailored training paths for UN-style, crisis, or parliamentary work. Deliberations will unfold across multiple sessions, with integrated crisis elements designed to test strategy, adaptability, and teamwork.
Beyond the committee rooms, Madeira itself becomes part of the programme. Delegates will explore the island’s landscapes and traditions—from the cliffs of Cabo Girão to the Laurisilva Forest—through curated tours that place diplomacy in the context of culture. Networking evenings and informal exchanges will run throughout, culminating in a closing celebration that marks both the conclusion of the summit and the beginning of lasting connections.
Every participant will leave not only with a record of their contributions but with a certificate carrying the signatures of some of the most respected figures in global governance:
Yuval Shany, Former Chair of the United Nations Human Rights Committee;
Louise Arbour, Former United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights;
David M. Malone, Former President of the International Development Research Centre and distinguished diplomat;
Christopher Greenwood, Former Judge of the International Court of Justice; and
Abdullah Shahid, 76th President of the United Nations General Assembly.
Their endorsement underscores the academic seriousness and international credibility of the Summit, ensuring it stands as a platform where policy, culture, and collaboration meet with purpose.
With BrainsByte Group’s innovative approach and the INDMUN Secretariat’s academic leadership, the INDMUN Madeira Cultural Summit is more than a conference—it is a living intersection of global dialogue and cultural exchange, set against the unmatched backdrop of the Atlantic’s gateway.
