GVMUNC Ⅱ 2024

Greetings international delegates,

Welcome to the third Global Virtual Model United Nations Conference (GVMUNC), hosted on October 19th, and based in Bridgewater, New Jersey! Join us for the day as we introduce ideas, debate solutions, and finally implement resolutions. Participate in a growing international committee of diplomacy and discussion, and prove your skills as a Model UN delegate.

For this iteration, GVMUNC is offering delegates the option between four committees:

1. Disarmament and International Security Committee (DISEC) - Beginner - Delegates in this committee will represent all UN member states, and debate enhancing maritime security and combating piracy, as well as combating terrorism and violent extremism.
2. Special Political and Decolonization Committee (SPECPOL) - Intermediate - The delegates assigned to this committee will address the challenges posed by the Kashmir conflict, and work to resolve the South China Sea dispute.
3. Economic and Financial Council (ECOFIN) - Intermediate - The delegates of this committee will collaborate in order to discuss the regulation of big tech companies, and the combating of illicit financial flows and money laundering.
4. Historical Security Council (HSC) - Advanced - The delegates of this committee will focus on Deescalating the Falklands War and Deescalating the Gulf War.

Each committee will have five awards, as follows:

• Best Research and Preparation - 1
• Honorable Mention - 2
• Outstanding Delegate - 1
• Best Delegate - 1

Note that a position paper, while not required, is strongly suggested for award eligibility. Delegates are expected to research their topic thoroughly, starting with the provided topic briefs, and prepare for committee.
