Schedule π
- On Day 1, beginner delegates learn about the basics of MUN, while intermediate & advanced delegates get started on their position papers, which are done with the guidance of their chairs. Then, delegates begin to explore their background guides and take their own stances on the issue. Day 1 delegates end the day having completed their own position paper, learned about MUN, and prepared to become the best delegates they can be. They'll be assigned the task to research their issue and assigned role to the best of their abilities, and will get to keep the materials they were given access to to learn MUN.
- On Day 2, after a quick opening ceremony, delegates will begin their conferences in smaller zooms of 45-minute intervals, joining back after a 5-minute break after each session. In these meetings, delegates will form groups, debate and give speeches, write out a draft resolution, and undergo the process to select their final resolution. Following the end of all committees, a closing ceremony will be issued, and participation certificates will be downloadable for all delegates; however, the Best Delegate, Outstanding Delegate, Best Position Paper, and Honorable Mention awards will be announced simultaneously, and delegates will leave Day 2 having gained both a certificate (or more!) and the experience of a conference that will help them win awards in many more to come.
Theme πThis year, GVMUN is proud to announce its recurring theme for committee topics: EDUCATION & YOUTH EMPOWERMENT. This addresses ensuring access to quality education, addressing education in conflict zones, enhancing teacher training, leveraging educational technology, promoting youth leadership, and fostering global partnerships to improve educational systems and empower young people worldwide. With their participation in GVMUN delegates will learn to become world citizens, and ultimately world leaders β and it is with this promise that GVMUN 2024 is proud to open its doors to delegates of all levels, identities, and ages. |
