About

Please apply through our website!

Dear Delegates, Faculty Advisors, and fellow members of the MUN community,

On behalf of our Executive Team and the Secretariat, it is my great pleasure to invite you to the 6th edition of Gimnazija Bežigrad Model United Nations Conference. Following a successful conference in January, we are excited to once again host national and international delegates from all over the world.

GimBMUN VI is a three-day simulation of the organs of the United Nations and is aimed at bringing the world of diplomacy closer to high school students (ages 14-19) with the goal of giving them a chance to participate in the world of diplomacy, broadening their horizons and empowering them to publicly express their thoughts.

There are many globally important topics in need of attention and it was a challenge for us to choose one as the topic of our Conference. After a lengthy discussion, we have decided to center this year’s Conference around a topic that is significant, is strongly impacting our lives, and will play an important role in shaping the future of our global society. The financial crisis is a recurring theme in the world of economics and politics and it impacts all parts of our lives. During the three days you will tackle several economic problems in your respective committees, while representing your countries interests and following its policies. Additionally, some of you will also be posed with a challenge of working under pressure and solving an urgent crisis. While finding solutions and drafting resolutions will pose a challenge, I strongly believe that by thinking innovatively and proactively, you will manage to come up with creative solutions and successfully reach a consensus in every committee.

Furthermore, while the academic component of the conference is crucial, a large and memorable part of attending MUN conferences is the opportunity to meet new people and build new friendships. While you will spend most of your time with delegates from your committee, you will also have an opportunity to meet others at events such as the Official Party, organized specifically for the attendees and the organizers of the conference, or the Diplomats’ Soiree. Throughout the three days, you will have an incredible chance to meet like-minded youth from all over Europe and build memories that will last you a lifetime.

All of the information about the Conference and important materials, such as the Study Guides will be available on this website, however, I would like to kindly invite you to follow us on Instagram, where we will post regular updates and reminders about the deadlines, social events, and any other important information.

I look forward to meeting all of you in January.

Sincerely,

Polina Kaspranova
