Gen20 is a student-led simulation of the Group of Twenty (G20), designed to emulate the structure, operations, and decision-making processes of G20 summits. It provides participants with an opportunity to engage in high-level global discussions, focusing on economic, social, and environmental policies. Gen20 is aimed at specifically the G20 framework, emphasizing consensus building and collaborative problem-solving.

  • Participants represent G20 member countries, guest countries, and relevant organizations. Topics centre on global economic stability, sustainable development, trade, climate change, health, and technological innovation—reflecting the priorities of the real G20.
  • Each participant assumes the role of a representative - head of state, negotiating on behalf of their assigned country or organization. Representatives must balance national interests with global priorities to reach agreements.
  • Gen20 challenges participants to apply their understanding of international relations, economics, and policymaking to address real-world issues. Representatives are encouraged to propose innovative yet pragmatic solutions to global challenges.

Participants should be fluent in English language and know basic economics.
