About

This year’s theme - “Alleviating Conflicts, Fostering Development and Inspiring Innovation”, aspires and encourages delegates to produce solutions to both prevent and dissolve conflict. Our theme is an exemplar of a wholesome strategy in acknowledging all aspects of the existing problems in a tri-step manner, targeting the nature of the problem to alleviate the causation, thus developing appropriate solutions based on our existing resources in innovative ways so as to avoid repeating our past mistakes. Following this theme EISJMUN 2019 acknowledges the evolving nature of current conflicts and the accompanying hesitance of member nations to implement the same solutions in the face of newfound crises; therefore it is imperative for this year’s delegates to be properly equipped and prepared to work cooperatively to improve both the nature of our solutions and increase implementation.

Sustainability, innovation, and development are three prominent concepts that will instigate debate with the respective theme, and students will be constantly provoked to consider the lasting consequences of conflict, as well as the possibilities for new ones occurring. The international community is becoming increasingly reluctant to mitigate the consequences of conflict, and hence, greater attention needs to be given to spark innovation in the minds of these young pioneers of change.
