About
DMUN Debate 2025
- What is DMUN Debate 2025?
DMUN Debate 2025 is an international debating competition organized by the DMUN Foundation, bringing together students from around the world for an intellectually engaging experience in argumentation, public speaking, and global discourse. The competition is designed to promote critical thinking, cross-cultural dialogue, and the art of persuasive debate through a world-class, structured format. - Dates:
January 4-6, 2026 - Format:
Asian Parliamentary Debate (APD) – A dynamic three-on-three format that emphasizes teamwork, rapid critical thinking, and strategic argumentation.
British Parliamentary Debate (BPD) is a globally recognised format distinguished by its four-team structure: Opening Government, Opening Opposition, Closing Government, and Closing Opposition. Each bench contains two speakers, and all eight speakers participate individually while contributing to their respective benches’ case.
In adapted large-committee formats, such as with 30 or more individual participants, the BPD structure can be modified to accommodate numerous independent speakers without forming pre-set teams. Debaters are assigned individual speaking positions for the purpose of each round and adjudicated accordingly. - Participation:
- Free of charge – open to all students regardless of background or experience.
- Welcoming global participation for a rich exchange of perspectives across cultures and countries.
- Key Features of the Competition:
- Global Representation:
Participants from across the world will engage in a multicultural forum, debating relevant global themes with peers from diverse backgrounds. - Debate Topics:
