About

Honourable Sir/Madam/Other,

The Secretariat of COMUN 2025 cordially invites you to the ninth annual edition of the Coornhert Model United Nations. The conference will take place both at the Coornhert Gymnasium and in the historical city centre of Gouda in the Netherlands, on the 14th, 15th, and 16th of February 2025.

COMUN is for anyone with an interest in Model United Nations; both beginners and more experienced debaters. As always, COMUN hosts a variety of interesting committees, including a Crisis Committee, Security Council, and a UNESCO.

This year’s theme is: “Empowering Future Generations: Cultivating Global Literacy and Enlightenment”. Education plays a crucial role in fostering sustainable development and social stability worldwide. By empowering future generations with knowledge and critical thinking skills, the international community can address global challenges such as poverty, inequality, and climate change in the long-term.

To participate, please follow the registration forms at the end of this letter or visit the official Coornhert Model United Nations website. The participation fee is €55. However, for registrations before the 15th of September 2024, there is an early birds discount of €10. Delegate registrations will be open until October 25th 2024.

Housing can be requested and will cost an additional €7.50. Delegates will reside with the families of some of our students for the weekend. Do note that unfortunately the conference might not be able to ensure housing for all delegates. Alternatively, accommodation can be found in one of Gouda’s hotels. For all participants of COMUN 2025, we have arranged a a discount for a variety of hotels and restaurants. For more information about this please look at our website.

If interested in a position as a Student Officer, please fill out the corresponding forms and upload a motivation letter along with a letter of recommendation before the specified date. A press team will be active during our conference. Press members work on tasks such as photography or social media. Press Officer and Student Officer registrations will be open until the 1st of October.

For any further questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to the organization through dsge@comun.nl. We look forward to welcoming you in February next year. We are certain that together we can make COMUN in 2025 a wonderful conference.

Yours faithfully,

Jochem van Dijk – Secretary-General of COMUN 2025 – sg@comun.nl
