BanMUN 2025

The Banská Bystrica Model United Nations (BanMUN) is a conference that offers students a realistic perspective on the complexities of international relations, enabling them to experience the role of UN delegates firsthand. It is historically the first initiative of its kind in the city and broader region, and will be held from September 12 to 14 in Banská Bystrica. It is organised by the Youth Parliament of the Banská Bystrica Self-Governing Region (MPBBSK) and the civic association MUN Association of Slovakia. BanMUN participants engage in debates and discussions, practice formulating ideas, considering opposing views, and presenting persuasive arguments in both Slovak and English - all key elements of effective public speaking. We believe that this is precisely the form of informal education that is lacking in the region, which is why we are striving to provide this experience to as many high school students in the region as possible, so that they too can enhance their knowledge through firsthand experience.

‼️Participants who are in need of accommodation (25 euro) should select the appropriate option in their application and will subsequently be sent a separate form, where they will pay the fee‼️

Banskobystrický model OSN (BanMUN) je konferencia, ktorá ponúka študentom reálny pohľad na zložité medzinárodné vzťahy a umožňuje im zažiť úlohu delegátov OSN na vlastnej koži. Ide o historicky prvú iniciatívu svojho druhu v meste a širšom regióne a uskutoční sa od 12. do 14. septembra v Banskej Bystrici. Organizuje ju Mládežnický Parlament Banskobystrického samosprávneho kraja (MPBBSK) a občianske združenie MUN Asociácia Slovenska. Účastníci BanMUN-u sa zapájajú do debát a diskusií, trénujú formulovanie myšlienok, zvažovanie protichodných názorov a prezentovanie presvedčivých argumentov v slovenčine aj angličtine, čo sú kľúčové prvky efektívneho verejného vystupovania. Sme presvedčení, že práve táto forma neformálneho vzdelávania v regióne chýba, a preto sa snažíme túto skúsenosť poskytnúť čo najväčšiemu počtu stredoškolákov v regióne, aby si aj oni mohli rozšíriť svoje vedomosti prostredníctvom priamej skúsenosti.

‼️Účastníci, ktorí potrebujú ubytovanie (25 eur), by mali vo svojej žiadosti vybrať príslušnú možnosť a následne im bude zaslaný samostatný formulár, kde zaplatia poplatok‼️
