🔱 What is Astra? | अस्त्रः – The Divine Weapon

The name Astra (अस्त्रः) is drawn from the ancient Sanskrit term meaning “a weapon of celestial or spiritual origin, unleashed by will and mantra.” In the great epics of India, astras were not merely tools of destruction, they were extensions of the warrior’s soul, his dharma, and his inner truth.

Among the devas, it was Lord Shiva who wielded some of the most fearsome and sacred astras, not for conquest, but to restore balance when the world tilted toward chaos. His astras were said to be unerring, precise, and invoked only when no other path remained.
