Topic: Children’s Protection and Rights
Date: May 16, 2025
Honorable Chair, Distinguished Delegates,
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia stands before you guided by a timeless truth: our children are our future, entrusted to us by both faith and duty.
Rooted in the compassion of our Islamic values and the transformative ambition of Vision 2030, we have embedded their protection into the fabric of our nation—ensuring every child has access to education, healthcare, and safety from harm.
Yet across the globe, millions of children face a starkly different reality—torn by war, exploited by greed, silenced by neglect.
This is a call we cannot ignore.
Saudi Arabia has acted decisively:
- Our Child Protection Law stands as a legal shield against abuse.
- Our humanitarian aid, exceeding $500 million to support Yemen’s children alone, affirms our commitment beyond borders.
Still, the threats evolve. Trafficking, digital exploitation, and armed conflict rob children of their innocence every day. These are not only crises of policy—but of conscience.
To address this, we propose:
- A Global Child Protection Partnership — uniting resources and expertise while honoring cultural and national sovereignty,
- The formation of Regional Task Forces to combat child exploitation, and
- A worldwide Digital Safety Campaign to protect youth from online harm.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia reaffirms its leadership and full support for these initiatives.
Esteemed delegates, let us not merely speak of rights—let us secure them.
Together, let us build a world where every child not only survives, but thrives.
Thank you.
