Topic: Reducing the North-South Economic Divide

Honorable Chair, distinguished delegates, China recognizes its unique position as a rapidly developing nation with significant economic clout. With the world’s second largest economy, China empathizes with the desire of developing nations to strengthen their own political and economic systems.

As such, China pledges to act as a bridge between developing and developed countries, aiming for poverty reduction and advances in agriculture and healthcare. We are deeply concerned by the continued economic exploitation that slows the growth of underdeveloped countries for others’ benefit.

China firmly believes that a more equitable distribution of financial power serves the interests of the entire global economy and will support resolutions that spur growth in the developing world.

Thank you
