Topic: Combating Child Malnutrition and Poverty

Fellow delegates, respected Chairs, and esteemed President, as members of the same world, it is only fair that each of us works hard together to improve peace, growth, and prosperity for the entire human race.

In Colombia alone, almost 5,000 children under the age of 5 are set to die this year due to malnourishment, illness, abuse, and a general lack of national and international aid. But this is not a problem affecting Colombia alone – even in the country we are in right now, children suffer the same fate.

Why, why, honorable delegates, are we letting children around the world die? The answer lies in the insufficiency of international cooperation. This is not only about protecting childrens’ rights – it is about helping nations move from a state of crisis to real development, and about establishing a true culture of peace for future generations.

Thank you
