Sudan's Humanitarian Catastrophe

The scale of displacement, famine, and suffering in what has become the world's largest humanitarian crisis.

The World's Largest Displacement Crisis

By early 2025, Sudan's war had displaced over 10 million people internally and driven approximately 2 million refugees into neighboring countries — primarily Chad, South Sudan, Egypt, and Ethiopia. This makes Sudan the world's largest displacement crisis, surpassing even Syria and Ukraine.

The displacement has devastated communities that were already fragile. Many displaced people fled with nothing, arriving in areas that lack basic infrastructure to support them. Host communities and neighboring countries, themselves facing economic challenges, are struggling under the weight of the influx.
