Alliance Building in Crisis
How to form, manage, and break alliances in the fast-paced crisis environment — and when to betray an ally.
Why Alliances Matter
No delegate can win crisis alone. Your portfolio powers cover one domain — you need allies whose powers complement yours. A military leader needs economic allies to fund operations. A diplomat needs military allies to back up negotiations with force.
Crisis alliances are inherently transactional. Unlike GA blocs that form around ideology, crisis alliances form around mutual interest and can shift rapidly. The delegate who controls the most valuable alliances often controls the committee.
Key principle: Always give your allies a reason to stay allied with you. If you stop being useful, they'll find someone who is.
