Policy Analysis Workshop
A capstone exercise applying the full policy analysis framework to a real-world problem.
Putting It All Together
This workshop applies the tools you have learned to a real policy challenge: reducing air pollution in a major city. Air pollution causes an estimated 4.2 million premature deaths globally each year (WHO), with the heaviest burden falling on low-income communities and developing countries. The problem involves health, economics, equity, technology, and politics — making it an excellent test of the full analytical framework.
Your task is to think through the problem as a policy analyst would: define the problem precisely, identify stakeholders, generate alternatives, apply evaluation criteria, and develop a recommendation. There is no single right answer — the goal is to demonstrate rigorous, transparent analytical thinking.
